As a working journalist (and Reveille alumna), I promise you that asking for input from rabid LSU football fans for a story about LSU football traditions is pretty legit reporting. It's also pretty brave, considering the flamers around here. Remember that Nick is on campus. He doesn't have access to as many long-time fans as he could find here, since he's mostly surrounded by 18-24 year-olds. So, maybe he's looking for an older, wiser opinion. Maybe a bad choice of venue if you're seeking the latter, I'm afraid.

I can also assure you that journalists rely on other media to help report stories all the time. 98% of what you see on TV news comes from the reporting at a newspaper. 90% of what you read in the paper originated from the Associated Press or from a press release/conference. The kid's just doing his job to the best of his ability.

So, keep it up, Nick, and let me know if you need a lead on any internships for you or the Rev staff.
