So, I have some filets that have been in my freezer for a while- one set for 6 months, one set for a year and 6 months. They are from omaha steaks, so they have stayed wrapped/in the box.
BUT I still think they will not be that good as 'steaks' so I wanted to make fajitas wtih them. Anyone have a good marinade recipe. I will be doing them on a grill...
Also, should I pound them thin? cut them before cooking?

Thanks!

Wrong texture

6 months to a year in freezer with good vacuum seal should be alright, Pan sear and finish in oven

I used some of those for beef teriyaki one time and it came out pretty good.

If you want to use them up versus cooking them as steaks I recommend you make some Beef Stroganoff

Ok- I am GOING to make the fajitas- it has already been decided....so can anyone help me with that? I plan on marinating them the night before-so for 24 hours or so
And they are not the wrong texture- I have seen fajitas made with filets before, so I know it can be done.....

Wow. That's a long time for steak in a freezer. I'd thaw it. Take a steak out and feed it to the dog. If he likes it, then they're OK.
