It was a ball but not as bad as I'd thought.

it was a ball but it was fairly close.

It was far away enough for anyone with a hitters eye to abstain from swinging.

It was far away enough that if he would have swung and missed, he would have been crucified on here.

I know, it was the end of the inning with a double play but instead the next pitch was a 2 run double...lol

It was not a two run double, correction! sorry folks.

Yes, the pitch was low and he did a great job of taking the walk. Unfortunately the ump got the call wrong.

Not by anyone who's ever played baseball with a full count in the bottom of the ninth with the winning run in scoring position. I'm all for not bashing this kid. If we are going to see mistakes like this, I would prefer seeing them against Princeton in the 3rd game of a won series. However, every post since then justifiying laying off, or whining about the call is just a little much. He didn't swing, we lost the game, that's it. I guarantee we won't see any player on our team make that mistake again this year. Let's get over it and on to another streak.

If Slaid swings and strikes out or grounds out everyone would call for his head for swinging at ball four. Rantards..

You may be right. This site is full of dipshits. The problem for Slaid is that the opinion that does count, PM, more than likely came down on him without mercy for not swinging in that situation.

I hope that doesn't take away a possible NCAA bid. It's not like basketball, this is not a guarentee.
