Anyone who makes this blanket of a statement doesn't know what they are talking about. Yes, in deer farming/high fence operations the deer are trained to come to eat just like cattle. However, the other 99% of the hunters that feed deer KNOW that it is no sure way to kill a deer, but it does have a tendency to keep deer in your area. I've never killed a deer over corn, but we feed a little year around because it helps to stop them in front of a camera to get a look and the does sure seem to like it during the summer when their fawns are starting to really draw them down. Personally, I would be fine with outlawing feeding during the season, but I would still feed them out of season as I believe it helps the herd.

I plant several food plots every year to feed the deer and I dont stalk in the woods to kill them, I hunt over a food plot. Should that be illegal?

I'll still watch a few shows but have been turned off to them recently due to just being jealous In the real world every hunter doesn't have access to 100k+ dollars worth of farm equipment, 1k acres of land and the ability to farm it and turn it into a haven for deer.

Only shows I watch now are Bone Collector, The Crush, Duck and Deer Commander. Watch these shows for entertainment value only. I dont really see many shows now that have education attached to them. The show with Stan Potts, QDMA was pretty good. Problem I have with a lot of shows is that they make me feel like a terrible sportsman if I kill a 2 1/2 year old buck.

I was watching a guy hunt some deer in South Texas and he did not see a deer he could take so on the last day he decided to shoot a fox and starting laughing....A lot of these shows are worthless!!

Whoever mentioned Stan Potts is dead on.

The crazy look in his eyes he gets after thumping one is almost demonic. I mean... really Stan?
Also the team hunting shows have gotten frickin ridiculous. Turning hunting into a "Gotta score points " game scenario does just as much discredit to true hunters as does the high fenced operations that promise you a 150 or better.
And speaking of these high fence operations heres a little story.
Buddy of mine went home to W. Virginia last year and killed a MONSTER 168 3/8 by rattling him in on public land.
His rich uncle, so pissed at being outdone, arranges a "hunt" in an Amish area of Ohio this year where he shoots a 186 and some change.
His "hunt" consisted of riding down a farming road in a Rhino and picking out which deer he wanted to shoot. Never got out of the Rhino, just put the gun down on him and blasted away , then drove up to it in the cart. "Imagine shooting cows in a field" is how he described it.
And all for the low, low price of 10 grand!

OK.. rant over

The only hunting shows I've watched in years on the Primos turkey hunting dvds. It pisses me off to no end watching people that don't know a thing about the outdoors sitting in a shooting house over a pile of corn so they can kill a "trophy deer." It took me several years of screw ups before I finally got a turkey in range on my own, but it made me appreciate it that much more when I was successful.

A game warden once told me that a picture of a long-bearded gobbler strutting towards you was worth $1,000, but as soon as he hits the ground flopping he's worth 50 cents a pound. I didn't get it at first, but he couldn't have been more right.

The Martin Archery chick is/was an NFL cheerleader, so she gets out of the camo from time to time.

I have to respectfully disagree with you regarding Stan Potts.

Stan Potts is one of the most genuine hunters on television. I believe that he respects the animals he kills and he is honestly that excited about hunting and wildlife in general. He does nothing but great things for the sport.

I have really old VHS tapes from the mid to early 90's that has Stan Potts getting just as excited over his kills then as he does now.
That was way before it got popular to have convulsions over shooting a buck.

I am not defending all these dumbasses that do it just to make it look cool or exciting, i am simply stating a personal opinion about a man.
Stan Potts is great for the sport.

The end.

p.s there is something wrong with his eyes, but they are not demonic! lol

You should email his show:

"Stan, what does a buck do if he wants another breath of air?"

Frick them! With the time and money I invest into hunting if I want to kill a young buck I will. That being said, I'm not the type to bitch about not shooting trophies on unmanaged land.

Hunting is about enjoying the hunt. I've only shot one deer that I didn't enjoy killing after a hunt and won't make that mistake again.

I used to be a Chuck Adams fan, but after the goofy rage commercial I can't stand him. I just can't take anyone seriously after they go on TV and say " it's like throwing an ax through an animal"
