They will, but it might take years. See the AirFrance crash in the Atlantic.

they found it after five days, but took two years to find the black box.

I'll be old and grey by the time this one is solved

Just an observation that I really find odd. Anyone else notice this? Am I the odd one for thinking this is weird?

It doesn't seem all that different than referring to ships as females: "She set sail last Tuesday." "When they found her, her mainsail was torn and she was listing to port."

It was different as you well know. Some debris was found, and I believe that they had an idea where it went down.

Here, it's all the weird facts that don't seem to add up.

Maybe the simplest explanation is that it was hijacked. No country seems to want to admit it. To me, there are more facts that point to this than not.

Here's another angle I heard from an "expert" on FOX this morning. Each life raft is equipped with a beacon, I guess much like a black box beacon, that when involved with a crash will turn on and transmit a signal. He said the only way that the signal wouldn't be actuated is if there was total obliteration at the time of the crash. First time I had heard this.

Which of course is what would happen if it crashed in to the ocean, at night, on a near moonless night. I don't think many believe it ditched at this point.

OR if there wasn't a crash and it landed just fine somewhere.

I don't understand that. What is it saying and where is it from?

Yes. Hidden at bottom of ocean. The simplest answer is pretty much always the correct one.

By Monday most news networks will move on if there isn't a lead.

The whole thing is just crazy.

If it was a systematic shutdown of comms, equipment and then cabin pressure, I would think all 777's would need to be grounded to see as to why this could happen.

I mean, lose communication and pressurization then the plane still flies on for hours after?

Why wouldn't autopilot be disabled? Just so many questions.

I don't think this should be a sticky, but I'm glad Chicken unlocked it.

These pieces of debris are so far down there it's pretty difficult to search. What I find really odd is the search planes that are made for searching only have a few hours on site because of the distance. Seems to me these planes would have a much greater range than what is being reported capable.

At least they should have in flight fueling.

On the news yesterday they were saying the US was moving in air refueling planes to the area to begin operations on Monday.

Also some kind of sub hunter ship with better radar is en route.

It was four or five days away though.

Wolf Blitzer has a countdown to the second of when the pinger will stop working, I thought that was a little much.
