I was there, 22 yrs. old. Upper deck. Was an unreal game as far as the crowd noise, even in the upper deck. Will always remember the int. on USC's first drive I believe on a long pass play. I forgot who tipped it and int'd it. It set the tone for the defense.

Brad Budde, Southern Cal's All-American guard and the son of Kansas City Chiefs' Ed Budde, made the statement after it was over:

"Notre Dame is like Romper Room compared to this."

I sat in the student section with three of my best friends from HS. We drank two bottles of Wild Turkey in the first half and one of us went out for a third during halftime. I was twenty and it was my second year, it was amazing. We walked home, three miles from Tiger Stadium and I was happy as can be after a loss. We played our hearts out and should have beaten a team we had no business beating. Ronnie Lott said after the game he was scared, it was that loud. It's not always about the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog and that night we had lot's of fight in those Tigers.
