I don't think 4 teams is really bad or anything, but go to 8 - and you're gonna see a season where an SEC team whose only loss is in the playoff is not #1 and some #8 4 loss seed will when the CG. That will suck and be fricking stupid.

Agree. Not certain where I land on expanded playoffs but the subjective positioning of teams will always be less than we desire when naming a champion. If we desire the word champion to be synonymous with the word best.

So? 10-6 nfl teams win the Super Bowl all the time. That's the point of the playoff-you can make up for your past losses.
Should it go to 32? Definitely not.. I think 6 would be good for a few years to see how it works. I like your idea of not playing overtime though.
