Got a call yesterday afternoon saying they needed hunters for the east Texas opener. Bottle of rum grab my gear and fill the ice chest. We in here. Greys and pintail supposed to be in here thick. Very excited.

Haven't seen a deer yet this year. Its quite strange.

Eta- as soon as I say that, a spike walks out at the end of my shooting lane and charged to about 20 yards from me.

Just woke up, wind is blowing like a bus load of figs in a hurricane in MS. Working on a big wash out we have today. Gotta get it fixed before it rains again or we'll likely lose the road for the season.

Possible squirrel hunt this evening.
