My current cord cut setup:
Live Tv - Antenna coupled with TabloTV. Can watch locals on any device as well as DVR and TV Guide. $0
HD Radio ($10 at Goodwill) - Ohio State Basketball games are on Big Ten Network. Cincinnati Reds on the AM Dial soon. They have every game on radio. For most games, this has been fine. Careful not to text your buddies to fast as they are watching on a delay (in the past) and you are listening in real time. Also, there is nostalgia attached to the radio broadcast.
Youtube (Premium) $13/monnth. I have about 200 subs and it gives a huge library of new content each day. Watching zero ads ever really enhances this experience. With ads, I watch youtube much less but also an option.
$0-$12 month
Library Card $0 - They have nearly every new release movie you can buy from VUDU. Que up a ton of good ones and wait like you did with OG Netflix. Also, my kids are picking up Nintendo Switch and PS5 games as well. $0
Sporadic choices:
Peacock TV $.99/month (Black Friday deal 2 years in a row) purchased a 1 year subscription for $12.
HBO Max - $2.99/month (after first month went to cancel and they offered this for 6 months)
Netflix $6.99 with ads. Usually in one month I'll stream what I want to stream and return back in 3-4 months once they've replenished a good bit of content.
NCAA.com/HBO - March Madness options
Paramount TV - Came free with the Walmart+ Subscription but $50/year for both
Every now and then:
Disney-Espn-Hulu bundle - usually once every 5-6 months to stream the library or catch some live sports. $20?
BallyTV $19.99/month - will subscribe if Reds are competing, Cavs or Blue Jackets are doing well. This allows me to watch every game live in my area for Cavs, Blue Jackets Hockey, and Reds baseball. I don't subscribe often as these teams aren't usually great.
Amazon Prime - When they have a lineup of palatable Thursday Night Football Games. Probably buy this 3 times per year at $9/month
NFL Network w/Redzone - I usually purchase this 3 months a year for the NFL redzone at $15/month ($45 year).
All in, I always have Local Tv, Youtube Premium, Peacock, and Paramount and HD Radio. This is about $17/month with the black friday purchases.
Most of the time, I'll at least have one extra premium services and cycle each month. ($10/month). Then the free apps will have some good stuff every now and then, FreeVee, Tubi, RokuTV, etc.
Cost of internet: $28/month for 1gb speed. Luckily, I have 2 companies in my area that offer high speed internet. I have switched back about 6 times to be a "new customer" with their best offers. The cancel threat work as well as I am not their only choice. I usually spend $45/month but last 6 has been $28.
Cons?
Live games will pop up on something I don't have. Most of the time I'm good but you do miss something sometimes.
