RIP Offseason (Dec 30, 2015-Sep 2, 2016)

Last day of the offseason, so let it die hard. I love me some Kevin Faulk, Rondell Mealey, Harvey Williams, Justin Vincent, LaBrandon Toefield, Charles Scott, Leonard Fournette, etc., but the best running back at LSU played in 1997, and he played only four games.

Astroturf (Vandy's sh*tty stadium turf) and sleeping white girls were his Kryptonite.

Fournette is better. There is no doubt in my mind. And I have watched and rewatched all of Collin's LSU and Dolphins games.

Cecile was the best back I ever scene run the ball live in Tiger Stadium. TakeO Spike would definitely concur. Cecile ran him over time after the night they Auburn.

Collins was more dominant and just did what he wanted. On and off the field. Fournette has more potential to have a legacy though.

Cecil was a flash of bull running glory. And then he was injured, and then in jail. Fournette is a consistent performer who has been on that super high level for a year now. Ain't no comparison.

At least put Ridley in there. He deserves it.

The only thing I can add to this discussion is that Cecil was a hell of a lot harder to tackle than Anthony Thomas.

Cecil ran behind Faneca for 4 games. Talented but he's no LF7

Like another poster said Mealey shredded Auburn that game too

Collins was the comparison to Darren McFadden than any other back I've ever seen. The difference between Collins and Fournette is Collins had better vision and cutting ability. If I had to take 2 backs and make one it would be Fournette and Guice and you have Collins.
What some of you are forgetting are he pure stats Collins piled up in High School. They were as big as Foirnette and may have even been more total yards if I remember correctly.

No I'm not googling it.

It's closer than most will admit. I think Cecil was quicker in the hole and finished runs a bit better, but Leonard has more top end speed and raw power.

Look at Cecil's tape. He was quick as frick and a fantastic finisher, always fighting for that extra yard. When he hit the open field, though, he'd usually get caught from behind before scoring. Leonard punishes more, squaring up and running over tacklers rather than spinning and glancing. When he gets a seam, no one can run him down.

I'd give the nod to LF7, because defenses completely sell out to stop him and most can't, but Cecil is in the discussion.

How in the hell is this even being discussed? Was Collins at or above the level of Herschel Walker? Because Fournette IS. That's the level we are talking about.
