I've bought several refurb from apple. There is really no difference to me. Same warranty. AppleCare. Etc. just better prices. I've had some for years, some for as little as a year. Only thing I've ever had happen is my HDD went out on a 2011 refurb 27" iMac last week. Replaced it, went ahead and added a SSD in the optical slot and the thing is faster than it ever was. 32gb ram helps.
