Use Leonard as the 3rd down back and let Guice have the starting role next week.

Could be the perfect mix for now. Gets Guice plenty of touches, and also mixes Leonard in but limits his touches, in case you absolutely need him in at the end. I think it would work great. Letting Guice put in the workhorse load, and using Leonard for 3rd and short plays would be $

If Leonard is healthy you run him. He is faster than Guice and has the break away speed

I wouldn't use fournette against ole miss until it's proven necessary

I disagree on the 3rd down role. If LF can play sparingly, give him a few plays at a time. They are going to key in on Fournette hard when he's in, so give him a few plays at a time and let him be a decoy, and use screens and draws when you do actually get him the ball.

It's amazing how short some of your memories are..

Leonard Fournette is one of the best college running backs ever, but because Guice has had back to back 150 yard games, he should start and Leonard should be a 3rd down back....

Jesus... Leonard is better than Guice.

Guice is great, but Leonard is different.

It's simple. You go with whoever is hot and giving you the best results.

I would think use LF7 only as needed. If Guice is handling business, which he seems more than capable of doing, limit LF7 touches. After ole piss is another bye week to get 100% for the bama game.

An 85-90% LF should stay seated. When he's 95% or more recovered, then fit him in so he can get some game shape/game reps...

No.

If Fournette is not back (if he doesn't have the lateral quickness), then he's a liability as a 3rd down back. He has to be able to pick up the blitz, he got embarrassed the last time he tried to do that.

I'd say give him the carries you're giving to Willliams, if you insist on him playing at less than 100%. He can blast into the line still, and if he hits a crease (and doesn't get ankle tackled) he will make some big gains. Open field, he's never been about moves, he's a straight line runner, so if he clears the line he will do well.

I would like to continue to rest LF. Have you noticed that the other teams go for his injured ankle? We will need him up and running for Bama.

You will absolutely need LF for all of the next games. There is a large drop off in running back talent for LSU if LF and DG are not on the field.

Is Leonard really faster? I have to doubt that from what I've seen.

Get both mixed in and confuse the frick out of these teams. Run hurry up offense with both out of the read option or using RPO's. Send one out to motion hike the ball and put it in one of their bellies pull it out, pass or give or keep. We could do this all game and no one could stop it if ran correctly. This need to be put in for our big games. We need to have some big time wrinkles for these big SEC games and we need to be practicing this stuff now perfecting it. Catch lots of teams of guard when you switch game plans up and attack the other teams weakness. OM won't be able to stop LSU and our Defemse looks to get better and better. They weren't even fired up this week. Wait until next week!!! I think OM is in for a huge surprise. Coach O is gonna have these boys determined to beat the crap out of these boys. GT

3rd down role? So you want our running back, coming off an injury, to be in on passing plays where he might have to block? Would be tight seeing cheap Ole Miss defenders go at his legs.

You just let them split carries. Simple as that.

Everyone talks about LF taking it to the house so much. They fail to realize that when all 11 defenders are stacked close to the LOS that all he has to do is break a couple arm tackles and its wide open. A lot like Guice's long run last night.

With a little more of a passing threat it will be interesting to see what defenses do when LF is in the game. Guice is shifty and makes people miss by bouncing around. LF runs over them. Different styles that work well for each player but we haven't exactly played any big physical defenses other that Wisc and Auburn and we see how those games played out. Now with a new coach, qb, and play calling it will have to play itself out and hopefully the coaches know which still will be most effective or won't be scared to pull LF when he isn't getting the yards

Leonard is an underrated pass blocker. I could definitely see him being used on play action and in pass protection from the gun.

I want to see LF finally be able to run without 10 men in the box since a 10 yard pass is now possible.

Good Lord people we have yet to see my boy Guice against a defense with some talent, and you guys think giving Fournette a few touches here and there will beat Ole Miss? Fournette isn't a "few touches" type of back. He needs the rock to pound the defense. You then bring Guice in as a change up. with 10-12 carries and a few passes thrown his way. If you are going to try to sprinkle Fournette in, it's not gonna work. You're better off letting Ducre pound the rock if you're going to limit Fournette like that.

Fournette will be ready to take on Ole Miss, no doubt in my mind.
