I read these and thought they were good but Jurassic Park was what really freaked me the frick out. Aunt thought she'd be cool and take a 6 year old to a dinosaur movie. Nice going bitch, we lived near a national guard base and every time they did artillery drills it sounded exactly like that fricking T-rex stomping.

I remember one of those stories called The Toe or The Big Toe. I don't remember what it was about, but I think I remember a picture of a kid and a toe that looked like it was planted in a garden

you live near there right? I don't think I could have stayed in the area after having had such a traumatic experience

No, I live in BR, but watching that movie disturbed me. A lot. There's a scene when they first drive up, and walk up to a house, and look in the window. There's a retarded girl laying on the floor, looking up. I wish I could find a pic of that. Probably the most traumatic shot of the movie.

THE TOE. I had forgotten about that one. Damn.

Harold was still GOAT.

Also, a good scary book will beat any film if the reader has a good imagination. My imagination can conjure up something infinitely more scary than anything Hollywood can produce.

Fantastic illustrations. They re-released these recently with more kid-friendly illustrations in case your kid is a pussy. Fans of the stories were not happy.

"Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" by Alvin Schwartz, I believe there are 3 or 4 books in the collection.

3.

Scary Stories to tell in the dark
More scary stories to tell in the dark

And

Even More scary stories to tell in the dark.

Whatever you do, make sure you get the books with the ORIGINAL drawings.

The rereleased a version recently and because some god damn overprotective moms thought the original drawings were too scary they redid them.
