I love when white leftists accuse black people of Uncle Tomery or when they say black conservatives aren't really black.

You hear this a lot?

I'm sure it was an accident, but for the record, that isn't my post that you quoted.

I'm torn. Since it is almost exclusively used by blacks against other blacks, it seems more a direct character assassination than strictly "racial" to me. However, as the race of the recipient is, more or less, a requirement, I can see why someone would consider it racial.

There is no question it is a slur.

I was just kidding. I was making it sound like your post means that it's only because they're offended that it's effective. Again, just kidding

Perhaps, if you are culturally illiterate. If you read the novel and were objective the comparison should be a compliment. Uncle Tom is essentially an allegorical Christ in the book.

For anyone who has read Uncle Tom's Cabin, the character Tom was a person of very high moral character and the term when used, should be a compliment.

Well, that's the beautiful irony in all of this, isn't it?

We are talking about Progressives here. History and facts be damned.

And given that a significant portion possibly even the majority of the black population is functionally illiterate they continue to use it incorrectly as a slur.

Uncle Tom is the most sympathetic and selfless person in the Novel. He literally embodies all of Jesus's teachings.
