How do you know when it’s time for a new driver?

I have a taylormade r7 draw which I believe came out in 06. I bought it used 3 years ago and I’m hitting it as good as ever. This isn’t a “should I buy a new driver right now” question, but in general, is there a way to tell when it’s time for a new driver?

I’m still banging on an R7 425 TP. Cracked a Ping G30 recently. Toe hooked and it said I’m done, coach.

I change when I feel that I’m losing ground against other golfers. My latest purchase was just too good to pass up.

Usually I’ll buy a new one if someone I always out drive, all of a sudden starts out driving me due to new equipment. That being said, I’m still swinging either a Cobra Bio Cell or Taylormade Aeroburner Mini depending on the course.

I’m playing the r7 13 degree off the tee cause I can hit it more straight than a driver. Mine is at least 10 years old, but I got it last year. Like someone else said if you hit it good don’t mess with it

I bought my Nike Covert driver from Croacka 4 years ago and I ain’t giving it up yet. That being said my wife drives a brand new $60,000 SUV and I’ve driven cars with 100,000 miles on them for the last 10 years

I started lobbying for one for Christmas with my wife today. I’ve been hitting my R9 for a long time, and just recently I’ve been missing fairways which is rare for me.

Baw, Taylormade has increased yardages by 258% with the more recent 187 drivers they've released since the R7.

In your case, technology has advanced a lot since the R7. While the head is usually just a sound and look, they all perform within reason of each other. The shaft is far more important than the head.
