Every now and again I enjoy the wife coming out for a late afternoon round. Some of my buddies think that’s a terrible idea. What say you?

I regret I have only one up vote to give. This is the correct answer to almost every question.

To each his own. If you like it, then enjoy.

As for me, not only will I never bring my wife to the golf course, I don’t believe women should be allowed in the clubhouse or on the course.

Last thing I want is to hang out with chicks when I’m drinking beer, playing bad golf, cursing, bitching about my wife, and talking about pussy.

To me Duck Hunting and Golf are man time. Once a year I like to take the ole lady to play one round of golf, and to the blind for one hunt. It's fun cause it's different, she gets to feel included and share my hobbies etc. etc. but it's back to business as usual after that.

Before kids my Saturday was play 18 in the morning with the guys. Then eat lunch. Then play 18 with the wife in the afternoon. During July it stayed light enough that I could get in a third round by myself before dark. Helped that I lived on the 18th green.

If taking the wife gets you an extra round of golf then go do it.

I enjoy playing a round of golf with wife, besides she looks better in that tight skirt than any of my buddies I play with.

Bringing your wife to the course to play with you and only you is perfectly acceptable.

DONT show up with the wife or girlfriend when your playing with buddies.

I have a friend that played in our group and he does this from time to time. It makes the round so ackward.

Someone once told me that GOLF stands for

Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden

I don't mind watching a few of the LPGA players.

This. Lochinvar golf course in Houston doesn't allow women on the entire property. If I had several hundred thousand to blow and lived in Houston, I'd be a member here before anywhere else in HTX.

I like when the wife comes and rides around or hits a few with me. we usually do it late in the evening when the weather is good. even if she started playing full time she wouldn't act like we had to play together if that's what your worried about

My wife doesn't golf, thank God. She went one time with me on our honeymoon 23 years ago and she told me she would rather watch paint dry than ever do that again. I also took her duck hunting with me once, maybe the same year. It was about 20 degrees, raining, and nasty. I had a field slammed with Mallards and not one buddy to go. I needed proof of the beatdown and I needed her to shoot a limit because 1 limit would not do this hunt justice. After that hunt, she said never again although I did get questioned a few times why I stay gone so long when that hunt only lasted 20 minutes.

I took her once years ago. She hated it, but understood why I liked it.
Outside, doing something sporty/fun/self-competitive, & get to drink beer.
Which was perfect. Justify why I like it, but not compelled to take her every single round.

Now that I've got young ones. She likes to come and bring them. They get to ride in the cart and get to see all the fun stuff. Different areas, trees, animals, watch the other golfers, and hang out with us. It's a fun family time.

I like spending time with my wife and family. SO, I don't mind when they want to come.
It's also understood that when I have a tee time with my buddies, that it's my personal away time.
And I don't think there's anything wrong with that either.
