Every now and again I enjoy the wife coming out for a late afternoon round. Some of my buddies think that’s a terrible idea. What say you?

To each his own. If you like it, then enjoy.

As for me, not only will I never bring my wife to the golf course, I don’t believe women should be allowed in the clubhouse or on the course.

Last thing I want is to hang out with chicks when I’m drinking beer, playing bad golf, cursing, bitching about my wife, and talking about pussy.

Before kids my Saturday was play 18 in the morning with the guys. Then eat lunch. Then play 18 with the wife in the afternoon. During July it stayed light enough that I could get in a third round by myself before dark. Helped that I lived on the 18th green.

If taking the wife gets you an extra round of golf then go do it.

My wife went with me today. The rest of the old guys can just be jealous.

I took her once years ago. She hated it, but understood why I liked it.
Outside, doing something sporty/fun/self-competitive, & get to drink beer.
Which was perfect. Justify why I like it, but not compelled to take her every single round.

Now that I've got young ones. She likes to come and bring them. They get to ride in the cart and get to see all the fun stuff. Different areas, trees, animals, watch the other golfers, and hang out with us. It's a fun family time.

I like spending time with my wife and family. SO, I don't mind when they want to come.
It's also understood that when I have a tee time with my buddies, that it's my personal away time.
And I don't think there's anything wrong with that either.
