Heart rate gonna heart rate.especially at race pace. No reason 160 isn’t maintainable for marathon. What do you really think it should be? I think the better question is how did the pace for that distance feel? If it was fairly easy even with your running build up over the past few weeks then that pace may be slightly above your current conditioning for a marathon.

At this point since this isn’t your “A”, you have two choices come race day. Take it easy and stick with slower pace / heart rate or Walter white it! Go out stick to goal pace and see how it goes. If you fall off then you adjust get to the finish line and know what needs to happen to achieve your goal at the “A” race. Life is short. Running is a hobby. Just go for it.

What 100 miler are you planning to tackle? I might know a little about running that distance.
