Not Popeyes, not even close.
Balls fried chicken FTW.
Yard Bird there is some of the best you'll ever have - and that's saying something for LC.

Had some about a year ago and then some several weeks ago. I'm a believer!

Haven’t had Balls but the smoked and fried chicken at Calla is solid.

DAE irrationally hate people that call chicken “yard birds”?

One of my favorites on Lenten Fridays.
Boudin balls used to be pretty good too, but I haven't had one in a year or so.
The chicken is still fantastic

yep. It's next to the subway on Broad Street next to the Chase Bank Tower. It's legit. They do breakfast there too and it's great.

Is Pronia's still around? Rarely see it mentioned here. I used to really like their Sicilian roast beef(roast beef muffeletta. They had really good bread.

Yep and there bread is killer. I like their muffaletta but I like mine better so I will go buy just a loaf of their bread and make my own at home. You brought up a good point, I think I'll be making muffalettas for the LSU game this weekend.

Why have I never thought of doing this?? Their bread is awesome.

Ball's on Enterprise! Any fried chicken place next to a church, across from a funeral home and down the street from the cop shop is blessed.

When I first stopped there a few years ago, looked an awful like the Hood?
Well worth getting robbed and shot over!
