Don’t want this to be a bash Pulmonary thread, but I’m trying to wrap my head around his decision to cut Reid.

How was his evaluation of him and our prospects at 3rd base so far off?

Needed to make room for beasts like Bianco, Hughes, and Broussard

Dugas getting hurt and Hughes not turning the corner yet are the biggest factors in Reid playing. Props to him tho, dude was written off as a role player at best be a large portion of the fan base ( myself included ) and he keeps on proving people wrong.

Just mentioned this in the game thread. That dude deserves all that comes to him and much appreciation for the way he has conducted himself since he came back. I’m really happy for that kid.

Do you remember when last year Bain, who was a pitcher, ended up being one of our better hitters/position players? Nothing about Bain screamed baseball talent. Hell, his swing even looked like a JV back up. It worked though.

Reid is that kind of guy. Nothing about him jumps off at you as being good, but yet he does everything just good enough.

I was low on Reid, and I was wrong.

So many newcomers with talent aren’t panning out as fast as the coaches thought I guess. On paper Reid doesn’t hit for much power and he’s pretty slow. BUT he has the best eye and approach at the plate of anyone on the team. His defense is solid, but not better than Hughes. I was really sad to see Reid cut, but figured it was for the best. Looks like he won’t let anyone forget about him.

I’ve made a living off of hating on Ried on this board for 3 years.

I was wrong. Kid is saving this team right now.

Well there’s way more to the story than most people know. Reid told Pawl to Go F&$k himself after a game and that did it. So CPM cut him and he was planning on transferring to LSU Eunice. My duck hunting buddy is best friends with Watson’s older brother. So TWIW

I hate it but yes guys we sorta wrote off, Bain and Reid, both kept us afloat early in back to back seasons. It’s been 10 years. You think he’d (Paul) would have lucked into one

I always thought Reid was solid from watching games. I probably watch 98% of them but I don’t know his stats. Moral of the story is the world we live in is people think everyone is replaceable and always looking for the next big thing. Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener.

He is playing lights out right now. About .300 BA and almost .500 OBP. Happy for him. He deserved this.

Jordy said that Reid wasn't taking care of business. He would be late for meetings and had a bad attitude.

No idea. Not sure why other posters didn’t like him either. Has great rhythm and keeps the barrel moving at the plate, great plate discipline, and finds the barrel a lot. What is not to like.

How is it possible?

He is a lifetime 250ish hitter w no speed and no power and limited range.

I wish no kid would get cut and don’t agree with it but it shouldn’t be real hard to see why.
