What a circus … and complete waste of funds and resources.

"When asked if they would be willing to register their vehicles in the state of Louisiana or obtain a Louisiana driver's license each employee stated they would not be willing to do so," the audit says. Auditors also said the four officials said it was only during questioning that they learned about the state law and if they had known in advance they would never have taken jobs with LSU.

What a-hole IT guy pulled the buttons here so their inferior IT services would be selected instead. Terrible law and it should be repealed. How many Professors/Researchers fit into this same situation that will now depart at the end of the year.

This admin is embarrassing

This seals it for me, not one penny more to LSU academics or athletics until FKing and His cronies are gone! What a joke!!!

shite I may go apply for one of their jobs. I have 20 years of IT experience including management. I already live here too

This needs to gain as much press as the Wade thing...THIS is the kinda shite administrators like King get fired for! THIS kinda shite pisses me off as an alumni worse than a coaching mishap

Pay me 270,000 salary my arse is first one in line at the DMV with cupcakes and fricking smile ya heard

Everyone is missing the big lesson in all of this. People will turn down 6 figure salaries if that salary requires them to go to a Louisiana DMV.

What are the odds of this not being some kind of major scandal?
All 4 of these people being from Illinois? Just smells like some kind of back door deal. There’s no way this admin comes out clean in this. LSU is ran like an absolute shite show

Why do they need so many high-level IT guys?

Prior to this law Jindal had high paid unclassified state employees out of state on the books. I believe one may have even been related. The employees mentioned in the article should’ve definitely been terminated 30 days from their hire dates if they weren’t in compliance. As unclassified employees, LSU could’ve terminated or ended their appointments without any kind of disciplinary process. Those employees don’t have any kind of appeal rights either.
Long story short, this was a major mistake by LSU. Technically, they were breaking the law. One could easily argue that there are grounds for termination for the responsible party/parties

The four in question probably wanted to keep taking advantage of the Illinois reasonable auto insurance rather than pay our high rates. Downstate Illinois, where at least two of them lived and worked before taking jobs at LSU, has auto insurance rates less than half the rates charged here.
