The back half of his junior* year really eliminated him from this one. At one point pretty late in the year I think he was hitting around .510. He ended the year at .431 and was pretty much an automatic GIDP at the end of the season.
Had he not gone in that huge slump and finished the year around .500 he'd be a much stronger argument IMO. That 2012 team was one that peaked too early as a whole honestly
Rhymes had an uncanny amount of baseball fortune for most of the season. It was amazing at how many ground balls found holes in the infield for much of that 2012 season. He was bound to find some equal misfortune by the baseball gods eventually. Just so happened it came at a the worst time for him, going 1/13 in the super regionals.

I just want to know how I'm the only one who chose Ibarra at 3rd?
I mean shite, we got people putting Helenihi over him.

I would have put him there had Josh Smith not played there his freshman season. Lot of slim picking at 3rd. Ibarra was decent for awhile but had a dreadful last year here. Only other guy I considered at third was Hollander.

Regardless of his bat in his last season, he still had the best glove/range/arm combo among any of the other third basemen.

That is true, no disagreement from me on that front.

For RP, I'm going to through in Jared Bradford. He was a starter/relief all in the same weekend. Very good on mound with great location.

I really like Deichmann but I just don’t think you can have an all Mainieri team without Dean. Maybe I could have used Deichmann instead of Cabrera. Mitchel too. We’ve had some dame good outfielders come through here. Fraley could make the list. Stevenson.
The infield list was far easier.

Ibarra was a hell of a 3rd baseman

Really like your picks but I’d have to find a place for Jared Mitchel on the squad.

I was as big a Papierski fan as anyone, but I don’t think he holds a candle to Gibbs or Scivicque. Look at their lists of achievements. Gibbs’ and Scivicque’s far outweigh Papierski’s 2017 SEC Academic Honor Roll. I understand he was stellar behind the plate, but it’s not like the other two were scrubs. In fact, if you ever run across Lange, ask him if he had more trust in Scivicque or Papierski. I suspect his answer will surprise many of you.
