I just read the article. They’re already letting the descendants go to school for free and yet they now want monetary compensation as well. Ultimately that’s the problem with the reparations. It will never be enough.
If we gave every black person in America $100,000, it still wouldn’t be enough to make them satisfied. They would just want more. They will demand ownership in our largest private companies. They will demand to be given a high level jobs.

Whether or not my ancestors owned slaves has absolutely nothing to do with me. I wouldn’t pay a cent, nor should anyone else. Unless every one of them that got paid went back to Africa permanently. Then I’d be a generous donor.

Absolutely this.
We have ALL already paid this over and over and over and over... all of the entitlement programs have a net negative effect because their goal isn't to help. It's to create dependency and therefore a vote for the Democrats.
Not to mention, I am stuck KNOWING I will never hear the end of this bullshite anyway. For the rest of our lives we are ALL cursed to hear this narrative of the evil white man and their slavery. It never gets old because people eat it up.
For those reasons, I would never wilfully offer a single penny.

Here's the catch. You're still guilty to them. You are guilty of slavery by your genetics alone. It doesn't matter if you're an Italian whose family got here in the 50s, “white" in the same sense as Rami Malek (yes, this is a thing), or Korean (depending on where in the country you live) you are guilty and owe reparations.

I do like the precedent it would set that the GUILTY pay the reparations. Georgetown sold the slaves, Georgetown pays. Similarly, the Democrat party fought a war to keep slavery in which thousands of Republicans died. Their policies of supporting Jim Crowe, the KKK, and other racially harmful programs means the DNC is the guilty party and should pay any and all reparations. Culpability is the linchpin of financial settlement. Let the DNC pay for their crimes.
