There shouldn’t be background checks

Too many of you are accepting the premise that government permission is needed before exercising a Constitutional right.

To take this one step further, it’s not even a right granted by the constitution. It’s an absolute restriction on the government—what they can’t do. It says nothing of what we can do, which means we can do whatever we want. I know these are two sides of the same coin but the distinction seems to get lost.

I disagree

There are two many people who think that the constitution grants is the right to bear arms, because it doesn’t

Instead it specifically lists a negative right to government
Telling the government that it can’t infringe on a right we already had
