Obviously coaches were analyzing long before these metrics were developed.
I compeltely understand what Bill is saying. He doesnt blindly follow advanced metrics in order to make decisions.
However, taking data he has experienced and relying on that information in order to make the best decision is using analytics. There are coaches that absolutely do not do that. "You take the points" "Play field position" etc etc
A fantastic example is when the pats, while up late against the colts, went for it in their own territory on 4th down. They didnt make it and Peyton led the game winning drive
People crushed Bill, however, analytics actually showed Bill made the right decision statistically. Bill was using the data he had seen over his career to make a decision.
