assuming the Heisman is Joe's, how long realistically before his name is beside Cannon?

On the Ring of Honor? 5 years? 1 Year? 20 years? We all know stuff like this moves at a snails-pace at LSU. Thoughts?

Considering Faulk’s name still isn’t up there, it could be a little while.

Lots of people to go

Jones
Alexander
Hilliard (maybe)
Faulk
Dorsey
Peterson (maybe)
Then you get to Burrow

My guess is 20 years

I imagine, when whoever drafts him has a bye week and gets the invite back to BR. Sometime next year, time permitting.

I'm pretty sure Cannon's jersey was immediately retired. Correct me if I"m wrong.

Considering he’s about to finish as the best football player in LSU history, you have to at least unofficially retire #9.

At least until his NFL career is over. I doubt either he or LSU would want the distraction while he's still playing.

Not long honestly. I will give it 5 years. He will have a statue as well. He's up there with Billy cannon right now as one of the best and most influential players to ever play here. If he wins the national title he will, as he should be, considered the best player in LSU history. He is a pretty big deal man. Burrow won't be forgotten and will be someone we tell our grandkids about someday and explain to them these unique and special times as tiger fans. He's somebody that should be forever etched in LSU football lore.

Within five years there'll be some form of permanent recognition either on the Ring of Honor, a statue or both.

It won't happen right away, but LSU has done a better job of honoring its former greats in the past 10 years. I'm sure Woodward wants to continue this trend.

If Bama somehow sneaks back into the playoff picture and we beat the hell out of them for the trophy, Joe's name will be next to Cannon's and there will be a statue of him outside the stadium within a year.
