Have involved LSU playing in New Orleans.

I’m still astounded at the astronomical odds of this happening as many times as it has.

ETA: Since 2003, there have been 17 college football national title games. LSU has played in 4...All in Nola. 4 / 17

Well, then why don't you calculate them and show us how smart you are. I'm serious. Show your work.

21% by my math (4/19). Either way, it is amazing. It's so improbable that we would play for an NC in NO FOUR times in two decades. Just crazy.

Edit. Whoops. Only 17 games if you start in 2003, not the entire millennium. So yeah, 23.5%. Amazing.

It’s pretty simple math. 4 times in 17 games.

The only year LSU wasn’t involved in a NC game in NOLA was 2015

2015 national title game was in Arizona. CFP title games

Every time the title game has been in Nola since 2003, LSU has been in it. This year is the first year the title game is in Nola under the new CFP format.

Now do the percentage of times LSU has played in NCs when the NC is held in New Orleans. It’s pretty much a lock.

Yeah no shite. 4 in a row (with no other appearances in other locations) really is amazing. Add in that 1958 ended in an LSU v. Clemson Sugar Bowl and the odds of all that really is hard to believe.

Very true.

If we can finish the job this year, I really feel like I will have completed the grief cycle and fully recovered from that 2011 title game. Or am I still in bargaining phase?? Lol

Times the odds of LSU making it to a national championship game in each of those years.
