Those stats have a lot to do with the number of top 10 teams we played as well as injuries. The most important thing to me has been said. They stepped up when it mattered.

Teams higher than us on defense either played shite schedules or played old school ball control offenses that kept scores and yards down. For what we were on offense this year the D was a great compliment

We made some good offenses look really bad. And we did it when it counted. Clemson and Oklahoma looked pathetic.

I'll miss Aranda. He was obviously a huge part of this great season.

But I trust O to make a great hire.

I'm ready for the Texas game.

But also ranked #2 in the country in just the last 3 games played.

Been saying this forever. However, the Aranda kool-aid drinkers have an excuse for everything. I say he was overpaid and not above average. I say good-bye and good riddance.....no more third and Aranda!!!

They were bad for a good chunk of the season but they sure played great down the stretch

Rankings don’t really tell the whole story

Look at who we beat this year! We beat a lot of teams with better defensive stats than us!

Hey when I said this earlier, I got even worse downvoting, but obviously I agree with you. And I misspoke earlier. I said LSU was 8th in the SEC but you are right...they were 9th. Anyone who gives Aranda credit for the defense improving at the end of the season fails to notice that LSU for example had Clemson's WRers covered like a blanket. That is NOT coaching in a man to man coverage..that is called TALENT! Clemson was NOT confused on offense at all...LSU simply had superior cover guys and more speed than they were used to. Hell, Queen ran down Lawrence on a play with no angle as they ran towards the sidelines. That is NOT great coaching...that is called "better talent" than they were used to playing.

The fact is almost every defensive coordinator in the top of the SEC could have replicated his results with the talent we had out there.

This would be an opinion, not a fact.

As crazy as it sounds to say Vandy/Ole Miss are the reasons that D was ranked that poorly lol going up 28 in the first half had that defense too laid back in the latter quarters. I'm all for whomever O hires, he's made some great hires and some below average ones. Only time will tell...

And another interesting “fact”

We beat 4 teams in the Top 14 for Total Offense. 3 of them in the TOP 6!!!

I challenge you to find any team to ever do this.

But hey, I’m sure whomever Coach O selects won’t be good enough for the haters.

Good job Aranda! Thank you for the National Championship!

FACTS.....

Compare the offenses we faced to the rest of the SEC. Did any other team in the SEC play 3 of the top 6 offenses in the country and 4 of the top 14? No? Well, maybe that has something to do with it.

Let's ignore G5 and ourselves. LSU played 3 of the top 4 P5 teams not named LSU, 4 of the top 8, and 5 of the top 13.

FACTS.....?

So you think Texas getting 530 yards is OK? You think impotent Vandy getting 375 yards is OK? You think Florida getting 460 is fine? Miss State over 400 yards? Alabama 541? And powerful Ole Miss 614 yards? Be serious!
