This is true. I saw a NYT article that mentioned they have more fans throughout the country than any other school.

Think about this. Their last title came all the way back in 1988 and people still cheer for them across the country.

You’ll always find a Notre Dame bar in most major US cities.

I meet people from all across the country every day . You’d be surprised at the folks who love and pulled for the Tigers all year . After the Tigers whipped the Horns a lot of the people in Austin were pulling for them .

I think we have been for awhile.

I would bet if we are on National TV playing a top 10 team, the majority of the viewers are pulling for us.

I was out of state last week, and everyone brought the Tigers football team up when they found out I was from La. Everybody was happy we won, except one Bama dude who said he's still not sold on Coach O. I couldn't let that slide, so I asked him if he noticed how the Bama players didn't seem to be enjoying themselves like the Tigers do. No reply.

The vast majority were & are tired of the annual Bama, Clemson & OSU parade. Looking forward to being in that number in a few years :-)

I live in Richmond and don't believe they know what college football is here. I get nice Vikings shirt here or there from a few folks. Just mentality if if this shitty city.

America's Team is fleeting. and if overused pisses a lot of people off creating negative vibes. remember when the Dallas Cowgirls named themselves America's team? there are 29 other NFL teams out there and their arrogance brought them a lot of hate.

LSU is MY team. America can find their own team.

I think the nation is tired of Clemson and Bama (and def Saban).

CEO is a damn likable guy and a great story of finding success after being at the bottom.

Who wouldn't love LSU rn? (SEC teams and Clemmy notwithstanding of course.)

But they haven't been relevant in over 30 years. They are last century's news.

BAMA was as well when they were successful but when you get too successful you will get haters. A lot like the Yankees. LSU was a good story with a peculiar coach.

Let’s peel back those statistics. The reason they hold top spot of counties with tickets sold is due their prestige as an academic university that draws students from all over the U.S. Due to a mobile and successful alumni, they have folks over the country. Moreover, since Catholicism is a very large Christian denomination, many people follow them.
However, they have been inconsequential for many years.
