What are your thoughts about psilocybin mushrooms ? Have you ever tried them ?

What did you think about them ? Did you have a good or bad experience with them ?

A lot of research is currently been done on how they can help treat migraine headaches, depression and even alcohol addiction.

Science News

In my college days, I spent many early mornings with friends walking through cow pastures to find them. Later on, actually grew them using spore syringes (which are legal to buy, except CA and GA)

Haven't done them in years, but am glad I did...they seem to open up another part of the brain, and made me realize how amazing the brain is, and how little of it we actually utilize in our day to day world.

And no, I'm not on them now.

There’s a show on Hulu called Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia that had an interesting episode on them.

Also some fascinating documentaries. Fungus is really cool to learn about. I think the doc was “The Magic of Mushrooms”

There was a period in time in which I microdosed about .25-.5 grams of mushroom honey every morning. Really gives you a great mood boost, visual acuity, and a creative mindset.

In general, if you're going to trip, I think it should be for a specific purpose rather than recreationally (though I have certainly been guilty of that numerous times).

I think they are potentially dangerous. Had a friend drink the tea and 30 minutes later it took three of us to hold him back from running into the road. He was convinced that he could stop a car with his mind.

Wonderful.

More fun and less damaging than alcohol, that's for damn sure.

I think it’s really awesome all the recent talk of the benefits of psychedelics in general, and I’m very interested in what may transpire over the next 30 years.

Mushrooms in general are awesome, I have been adding cordyceps and lions mane mushrooms to my coffee grounds for about 6 months now to give me extra energy and focus to start the day.

Lairds performance mushrooms is where I started, but buy at bulksupplements.com now and mix them myself.

Never messed with shrooms or LSD, but I have smoked Salvia. I know the experience can be wildly different for some people. It was around 11-12 years ago for me. It was crazy how fast it hit me. The moment I exhaled I was transported to another world instantly. Traveling through a subway tunnel made of waving human arms while dodging glowing neon Nerf footballs. Then shortly after searching under the couch cushion next to me for a friend of mine. Lasted maybe 10 minutes. It was fun, I apparently could not stop laughing. I never left the spot I was sitting. But, that shite was wild.

After I came down another guy with us took a hit. He was on the floor crawling on his hands and knees trying to scoop up an imaginary guitar and make a run for the door so he could sell it to someone who knew "how to play it in another language". Dude had to be stopped from running out the front door.

Good times.

Tried them with some friends in college, I got nothing, one friend played guitar and stared at ceiling fan, other friend called his mom and told her he was dying.

First time was a terrible time. Lol I kept "falling" into a couch.
Highly recommend having a friend that has done em if it's your first time.

Did'em once in college .... buttons.

Vowed to never do them again.

I mean it wasn't like dropping acid or doing mescaline (peyote and also organic) but it was .... trippy. I saw thunderclouds on the ceiling and thought about shite that was weird. Everything was really clear, but next day I found out I did some stuff I didn't remember doing and that bothered me.

And it wasn't like being drunk. You throw up first then you trip. Drunk is drunk.

But the other thing was that I was doing it with this older chick, a nurse, who talked me into it in the first place and she and I did some stuff that was .... a little uninhibited.

Frickin' early 70s ... way wilder times than the 60s.
