Had a strawberry and cream cheese from Gambia’s earlier this week. It was definitely overpriced, but it damn sure wasn’t overrated.

You’ve lost the argument. You can’t give me a reason why you like a King Cake...instead, you deflected a shitty take.

Actually, I was just correcting the first person who gave an answer that didn't have anything to do with king cake.

My taste buds tell me they are good. And the fact that they usually never last long at gatherings when there are other options. But not all king cakes are created equal and to each his own.

Personally, king cakes have never been my thing, so I’d agree that they are overrated. And some of them are pretty good, the “overratedness” is because people freak the frick out like they are the best thing in life.

Yes... It's nothing more than a Cinnamon roll with icing.

Sometimes stuffed with filling.

They’re not over rated but it seems like people try too hard with the types they make.

God people having fun to celebrate a world-renowned cultural event with a seasonal, decorated cake! I fricking HATE them.

If they were available all year, they would not be as amazing. Sort of like the McRib

Most of them are very overrated, yet only a few are actually good/great.

It’s a holiday tradition, like turkey on thanksgiving. King Cake is good, some are great, but it’s not the best thing in the world.

This is a reasoned, well crafted answer that considers all sides and concisely gets to the truth of the matter.

No, go frick yourself and get off the OT, because we just got off your mom.

Of course it’s overrated! But we get excited because of the tradition, connection and nostalgia.
