Is he supposed to get top 25 classes at Kansas?

In reality no but the way people on this board talked about him yes.

So many on here said we could not get rid of him because he was the best LSU had ever had.

That was complete BS.

Miles hurt LSU more than he helped. He followed Saban is the best thing you can say about him, to be honest.

He failed when it came to the lines. That’s why Bama dominated him for so long.

No. Bama won cause of Leslie kept wanting to run the same plays every year. Bama just had the talent to match. When the defense knows what you are going to do every play, its hard to win.

IMO, Les was a great recruiter.

How he got all those amazing receivers to come here I have no idea.

He also got national players (Ware, Pocic, PP7, tackle from MI, Montgomery and that's not counting GA or TX recruits).

Miles was infamous for playing the star game. He worried more about the stars than filling needs hence the reason why our lines were garbage and we had more kickers on the roster than LB'ers when O took over.

well... to be succinct and fair to Miles...

There are many variables in the delta between his recruiting prowess at LSU and lack thereof at Kansas.

For example:
1. The state of Kansas sucks
2. the school of Kansas sucks (in regards to football)
3. Kansas just sucks

That is a really good class for Kansas. I know for a fact he got a kid from my old high school that Oregon and TCU wanted bad. Oregon had a coach at multiple games I attended. And Louisiana is a long way from the Pacific Northwest, they wanted him bad and ole les got him. There is nothing worst than people who want to revise history to fit their ever changing emotions. Miles was a really good recruiter and a very good coach for a good amount of time. He simply wouldn’t change with the times but that doesn’t negate past accomplishments.

I don't know anyone that said that.

Notice I was not quoting anyone, However, I understood it to be because of those talking about his record, reference to the 90s and Curley, winningest LSU coach ever.

I won't waste my time looking but I would be willing to bet you were one of the NEVER Coach O guys.

I will say, I was never sure Coach O could win a title but I knew he was an upgrade from Miles.

Therefore, It was a no-lose situation.

Kinda like O pumpers praising his ability yet getting upset when people predicted a 11-1 season last season.

You can’t play both sides

He is. That's just a matter of fact.

This thread has nothing to do with Coach O.

Miles had top classes when this state was down for years. 51% of the players on the 07 team were from oos.

He didnt just recruit Louisiana, but when the state was loaded, he generally got the best outside of maybe landon and cam rob.

Should we list the players he recruited that were on the team last season? It would basically include the entire defense outside of fehoko and stingley.

People forget he gad like 19 or 20 guys committed for 17 before he was fired. shite clyde committed right after signing day to play for Les.

And thats with our compliance tying one hand behind his back.
