Each one has kind of "different" packages, which makes it difficult to know which is best for you (and/or your family)

My father and I enjoy watching the Sabres play hockey during the season and unfortunately, there was no services I could find that offered "MSG or MSG-1" through streaming services.

Each company has "packages" with "subscriptions" per month/quarterly/yearly, but depending on what programs/events/etc. are important to you, it's hard to say which the "best" is.

I found that Sling had a pretty good program where you paid 3x mo. in advance and they sent you and "airTV box", which is kind of like a router that connects to the wifi... basically, you get an antenna for your local channels and connect it to the airTV box and it sends out a signal to your Roku/FireStick/etc. so you can get local channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.) on any devices in range of the wifi and also on a mobile phone as long as the airTV is connected to the internet, you'll have access to the locals.

It was A LOT harder than I expected to get everything working and then when hockey season came around, we decided that we'd just turn off/down our cable packages and use it only for locals and MSG/MSG-1 and then still use the Roku stick for streaming services (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.) and haven't really even needed to turn on the cable box except for the games...

I'm kind of at the point where I don't think that having the cable bill, while substantially lower now, is even worth having for just one specific need.

TL;DR? Each service has "packages" and you'd need to do some research and determine which package would be best for your needs/wants based on their offeriing. There is no "perfect" package and you'll have to sacrifice some programs/channels depending on which you choose.
