re: Ahmaud Arbery’s Final Minutes: What Videos and 911 Calls Show

quote:No. He's initially on the phone in process of his 911 call. He grabbed his 357 after the altercation began. BubbaJr is standing outside the truck pointing his shotgun at Arbery.
Is Gregory McMichaels, in the back of the truck, pointing a gun at Arbery as he runs towards the truck?

The video starts out with the phrase “He may have been jogging”.
Is that as far as you got? Jesus.

I think I agree with this, although I have not been able to see the shotgun pointed at Arbery (not saying it didn't happen but would you agree it's not easy to see?).
Absolutely.
I had watched the video several times and not seen it. Then 808 mentioned this new zoomed video and even then I had to watch it several times and very closely to see it.

Last thought: have you seen anyone breakdown whether the McMichaels were committing a crime such as kidnapping before the shooting? Probably intertwined with the citizens arrest angle. The angle I am considering is felony murder vs. the possibility of manslaughter or even self defense-based acquittal. a premeditated slaying seems hard to prove on these facts.
I have not seen anything regarding kidnapping and would not think that applies in this situation.
Regarding homicide, probably felony murder applies. Murder requires proof of malice. Felony murder does not. However, you can definitely argue the element of malice if the prosecution chooses to do so, which they probably will.
Because of the continuous progression involved here, and the intentions of the defendants, along with the fact that the deceased was justified in using self defense, I think the gravity rises past the sudden heat of passion of manslaughter.

Had they ever told him this was a citizens arrest? Maybe so, but I've not seen that claim
STFU and only talk to your attorney would be what any lawyer worth his salt would tell their client.

Why was he so eager to get off the street? What did he have to hide? You don't go on other people's property. etc.
I thought everyone goes into people’s property and takes a “looksie” around.
Stated over a hundred times in these threads how perfectly normal this is.

Jogging in long cargo shorts? Ugh.
When I was a kid I used to play basketball with black dudes all the time. They would wear khaki school uniform shorts cargo shorts whatever they could get their hands on. This just a dumb statement.

What do you think the "felony" is to support a felony murder? I don't think the supporting felony can be based on the same crime as the killing itself. E.g., a murder (almost?) always includes a battery. This is what got me thinking about kidnapping or some felony not directly related to the shooting itself.
Thanks for the response on being able to see the shooter point the gun at Arbery prior to Arbery charging him. Your description as to how easily it can be seen is much different than the other response I received. I will have to go back and look again.
Edit: for some reason, I could see it much more easily on my phone. Thanks

Thanks for that slo mo video.
I’ve said it before on here and I’ll say it again. frick those two a-hole pieces of shite. I hope at least the younger dumbfrick redneck gets locked away for a long, long time. I don’t give a shite what Arbery was doing before that moment in time, there was no reason to gun him down in the street. And no, Arbery “attacking” him in front of the truck doesn’t fly. a-hole redneck was clearly pointing the gun at him. It’s called fight or flight.
And yes I voted for Trump and will do so enthusiastically again. And yes I sided with George Zimmerman because he was being beaten and in fear of his life. And yes I think Michael Brown is a gigantic piece of shite who got what was coming to him. Just because we post on this board and lean conservative doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be able to acknowledge when a dumbfrick white redneck murders a black guy unjustly.
These fricking assholes have served up a massive racial story for the national media on a silver platter. A story that they will use to attack all white people.

Seems clear enough for me. As soon as he points the shotgun Arbery veers across the car for cover (I'm assuming).
The fact that he was chased up and down a couple streets before having the shotgun pointed at him like that makes it easier to understand why he chose to go after Jr instead of try to get away.

Anyone still defending these two fools: GTFOH.
Nobody would be okay with this. Getting chased in trucks, yelled at, having a gun pointed at you — nobody can tell me they’d be in a rational state of mind.
At this point, I’m finished with this story. They killed an innocent man and deserve to spend the rest of their life in prison.
And the sister, taking pics of the dead body? Human trash.

Not at all considering he was lauded as this long time dedicated jogger.
I am going to locate some cargo jogging shorts though. All dem pockets....
ETA: to be clear as I have already said, the two need to face justice. The “jogger” didn’t deserve to die.

At this point, to argue, you only have his outfit.
The homeowner released the videos and his lawyer clearly stated the man was probably drinking water. Nothing was stolen while this man was on camera.
We have clear video of a man point a gun at the jogger. We know he was chased in trucks for a few minutes.
Legally, the GBI had this info for ~36 hours before they issued an arrest warrant.
If you want to argue, you’re down to cargo shorts. Really reflect on that.

Well to be truthful, the Media are going to do this with or without THIS particular story.

What am I arguing about? No need to create something that isn’t there.
To be clear, again, the two arrested need to face justice.
Seems it’s you looking to argue. I just hate the media spin.
