But it’s a statement to the “I matter, look at me” culture of this time where you think this is worth a thread

Honestly, who gives a shite what you hang on your house?

Have you seen the threads on this forum? It's a least as worthy as 75% of them.

Rock on! I have several flying.

The American flag was the chosen flag to represent the UNITED states of America but BLM wants it to be associated with racism so they do what liberals do- label something and make it stink.

Not me. I will fly it and I will celebrate the 4th of July.

Maybe some day these so called “progressives” will progress to the understanding that the flag represents unity not division

Well, when you consider the “look at me” culture out there driving their own anti American agendas, I’d say there’s an argument that what’s needed more than anything right now is a counter to that. IOW, stand up and be counted or fade away into obscurity.

Hell yeah, look at me. I vote, and yeah, I love my country, so count me in that number. Nothing wrong with that in the least as far as I can see.

Flags waving proudly. If it’s a statement, I’m proud of what it represents.

No, an American flag is not the same as a Trump banner.

Democrats have American flags on their porch too.

I took down my USA flag on 11/8/2016.

Was gonna hang the hammer and sickle because that’s the country to whom the USA is now beholden, but thought better of it.

Decided to hang Aussie flag in honor of friends arriving from down under a few days after election.

That flag flew for over a year. I replaced it with a Canadian flag in honor of my heritage on mother’s side. That flew for a couple years.

Replaced the maple leaf with the official flag of Baton Rouge after St. George proposal passed.

Will re-hang stars & stripes when Trump is out of office.

if you are serious and have an actual flag for this, you are aware of how absolutely dysfunctional that appears? Normal/sane individuals don't do that........nor do they put a full size flag (of any distinction) mounted on the bumper of their vehicle.

ETA: Are there that many posters here actually flying flags on their property? Not a jab, but very very few people do and those that do, its on a coastal vacation home or they live in very rural areas.

No. People have been handing American flags on their property for decades.

I see more Mardi Gras krewe, jazz fest and college flags flying in my uppity uptown neighborhood. Not saying there aren’t any but rarely do I see the ole USA flags flying anymore.

I live in the middle of a very large city. I’d say half the homes in my neighborhood have American flags flying on their porch, nearly all of them do during patriotic holidays. We fly one during the summer, and then we fly our college flags the rest of the year. Im far from conservative.

I have our last name, address and a huge fleur de lis cut in an iron sign in my yard.
You would think that I own slaves.
Fly that flag high

I think those flags come from a support for things much less combustible.....unless its a Bama flag.

I don't think your friend said this to you. I think this is what you've imagined your friend would say to you for the purposes of making this thread.

I've had an American flag, of one form or another, up since a day or two after 911. Lived in a condo where my bedroom faced the road in 2001. I put a decal one that was about a yard wide up in my window that faced an elementary school. After I moved back to Louisiana, and bought a house, I've had a couple of different ones flying on a pole mounted below the gutter on my carport.

I've got a little LSU yard flag in front of my flower bed just below the American flag. That's being brave here in Ruston!
