Again, I will point out that throughout the entire season no team had the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to go ahead. Domination.

Some people realize what they are good at and what they enjoy. Being a head coach is a completely and totally different beast. Just like John Chavis and several other coordinators, if you’re making great money and it’s the strategy and chess match of being Defensive Coordinator that you enjoy, hats off to him for knowing where he belongs. Not everybody is cut out to be a head coach.

Clemson’s defense only allowed 264 yards per game coming into the National Championship.

They gave up 628 yards against LSU...

Agreed. Venables had a pretty good plan dialed up but LSU's response was overwhelming.

He did. Most teams would have collapsed completely, but LSU was just that good.

Watching the game, Clemson played really good defense and was in great position most of the time, but LSU played even better offense. Clemson played as physical as a team could play in the secondary and got away with a lot (which was smart to do), but again, there was no stopping Burrow, Chase and company.

Bottom line. We had a commitment to attack all day. And we had the ace of spades at qb.

Add in, that middle linebacker getting ejected in the second half made it considerably easier as well.

Still would not have stopped the train as Trevor sucked balls in the second half.

The offense really opened up once it was established that Chase could go over the top on Terrell any time he wanted.

Very true. That LSU offense was literally unstoppable. Though it must be pointed out that Clemson does play in the All Cupcake Conference. And that their "tough" OC game last year was against whom?.....Right!

Pretty sure those days are over. He does not like shaking hands and kissing babies. He’s right where he belongs and he knows it.

here's to Pelini and the defense this year.

i hope our D dominates on the same level as the offense did in 2019.

Aranda accomplishments well appreciated but O'piss and end of gump game was brutal.

It sure does help when the defense has to stay honest against a really good Running game.

shoulda won by 30 plus just like bama game.

stupid arse coverages in bama game along with ST TD

and clemson it was chase missing a TD and us kneeling near goal line at the end.

NFW i am kneeling there. i am scoring one more TD

we shoulda used screens in first half. waited til second half. they kept blitzing and we did not have time or guys getting open. i predicted this after ole miss game we would eventually need screens.

Complaining about 15-0 and a 17 point national championship win.

frick off.

And that illegal man down field. That play was one of Burrow’s best and it got called back.

If that play stands, we could have all gone to bed at halftime.

The second half was amazing.

I think the score was accurate. The Clemson D had an amazing game plan each half that really baffled the LSU offense. That coupled with poor field position and they won those drives. Once the O got going, it was a runaway freight train.

Their defense was doomed once we got away from poor field position. We kicked the door down in the second quarter and they could do nothing to stop us.
