Makes no sense in current climate.
This is one of the moral crises' of our current time. Had a grown man sobbing outside the lobby because he couldnt see his dying mom.
Write your representatives, do something.

Can the plebes go back to getting one funeral too?

Hospitals allow family inside at end of life situations.

They don't have to.
And even still, it doesnt matter.
Just let people visit their fricking family. There's zero to gain by keeping visitors out of the hospital.

One of the small rural hospitals in Missouri just instituted a no visitor policy. Today.
They’ve had 129 cases with 45k population in the county. 0 deaths.
All the cool kids are doing no visitors in the hospital.

We've been at no visitors since fricking March.

This isn’t universally true. Thousands of patients have died alone in hospitals.

The best example I’ve heard for our communication failure seeping into a policy failure is this ridiculous notion that we should be “social distancing”. It’s not social distance we need to combat this virus. It’s physical distance.
Physical distance can absolutely slow the spread, but we can be physically distant and remain socially close. In fact, in this heightened stress environment, we have an extra need to enhance our social closeness and strengthen our interpersonal bonds. We can do that while maintaining a physical distance. And hospitals can 100% embrace the social connection between their patients and those patients families while also maintaining physical distance between various peoples. Perhaps no group in society needs social closeness more than our sick and infirmed. Let’s stop creating bad policies that hurt them on the backs of our inability to communicate an appropriate response.

I agree with hospitals lifting those restrictions and would also like Supercuts to bring back the hot towel that they canceled because of the covid.

If you had a relative in the hospital that ended up contracting Covid-19 and died because some infected visitor you might have a different opinion. Another important reason is to protect the hospital workers. I have watched people die alone. Yes, it is extremely hard, but it makes a lot of sense.

And if my aunt had tits I'd be an uncle

Edit for the downvoters: Am I missing something? Am I reading this quip wrong? If the saying was, “If my uncle had tits, I’d have an aunt”, then yea, that’s a money response. But the response was, “If my aunt had tits, I’d be an uncle”. Let’s say that another way...
That’s analogous to “If my mother’s sister had tits, then my brother would have a kid”. The implication is that my brother would have fricked my mother’s sister if only she had tits. What kind of fricked up alabama family are we talking about here. Which is why I repeat...

Don't come to work if you're worried about this.
What's the difference between temperature checks at the door for employees and employees + visitors?
There isn't one. You're just a cowardly bitch.

this is ridiculous make the person sign a waiver and let them be with their loved ones.

Why would an infected visitor be anywhere near my family member in a hospital room?
That’s a pretty stupid take

My mother in law died last night alone. No one was allowed in. My wife is tore up.

This is what the maskers want. It's on their hands.

Imagine thinking Covid fatality rate was so bad you could catch it through patient room walls.

Maybe they shouldn't have signed up to work around sick people.

Brutal. Prayers to your wife and her family. It sucks. I have lots of friends who work in hospice and they’re all heartbroken day after day for their patients.
