The NYT did that affair bullshite to McCain and after the election he went back to campaigning to be the media's favorite Republican.
Maybe Palin wasn't ready but maybe she could have been made ready if she had somebody helping her that was actually rooting for her.
She had happen to her what they tried to do to Trump.
Why so many people swallow the "Palin was worst ever" bullshite I do not know.

She held her own against Biden in the debate and this was back when Biden was still coherent.
Palin performed better against Biden then Paul Ryan did. That’s a fact.
