So far, Ascension is closed Monday. BR Catholic schools are closed Tuesday but not tomorrow.

The update at 2 PM had sped up landfall considerably, but I agree. There shouldn’t be any issues before the kids get home from school tomorrow.

You might should check that again.
Landfall isn’t expected until Tuesday am.
We won’t even have a breeze here tomorrow.

I can’t stand how they rush and make all these weather/Covid closure decisions way too early, and they end up being a bust. Like a canceled Mardi Gras parade in 2021, the Big 10 and PAC 12, etc.

I expect we won’t see you in this thread tomorrow when it’s sun shining.

I’ll be watching for you...but you won’t show.

The disservice that is being done to students between the panic for storms and Covid will one day be viewed as beyond negligent. What we are doing to young people will show to be far worse than any financial handicaps with which we’ve burdened younger generations.

It is amazing to me how many still don't understand why districts do this, because of lawsuits from parents

Such a predictable excuse. Like blacks yelling racism whenever they Get arrested.

No I realize there is a superintendent in place but I also know how teachers voice their opinions on matters as well. It’s my understanding teachers are going to the school for how long who knows. To call off school tomorrow with all of the forecast all day long indicating no effects from the storm here tomorrow was a crock of shite. (BR surrounding area)

If one school in the parish needs to close, all the schools shut down with them. There are a couple of schools in the southern part of the parish that are near major waterways and flooding is a serious concern. Many people in that area may need to be prepping for such an occurrence on Monday. Some may need to evacuate, and the longer you wait, the worse the evacuation traffic is.

No one at the LPSB thinks the weather will be too bad tomorrow. But they closed school in consideration for the many families in Livingston Parish that may be doing hurricane prep.
