I would hope he has iron arse clad contract language that says they can't touch his product. If they do anything, yes, a massive lawsuit is in tow.

I see this whole deal blowing up for both sides and a detente of sorts occurs, where each party agrees to just walk away from the deal without any consequences. Spotify pays out a pro-rated number (plus a little more for all the complications) and Joe goes back to YouTube full time for now, then possibly starts his own site to host his own content.
