re: Would you allow you child to be put on Adderall/Vyvanse at 8-10 years of age?

Our 8 year old son is on Ritalin. He is extremely hyperactive and it helps him a lot. When he wakes up in the morning he's like a crazy person until he takes his medicine and then like 15 minutes later he's ready to learn/help/work. Doesn't take away his personality or turn him into a zombie like a lot of folks believe. We have gone to therapy, etc., but counseling is not very effective for ADHD as I understand it. It's not perfect, but it really helps him to be able to be in control of his lil' self.
