Got it in my ankle a few months ago and it was a huge wake up call to me to make some major changes in my life.

It was some of the worst pain of ever felt in my life and the medication the doctor gave me was like manna from heaven when it kicked in.

Never had it in my knee, but in my feet it’s awful. On allopurinol now and it’s working.

Don’t wait all weekend. That’s too much pain. Go to urgent care or see if you can do a virtual visit with your doctor network. They’ll get you some steroids which should help. 800 mg of ibuprofen will also help a little, but don’t take on empty stomach.

Learn the trigger food or drink that brings it on. My trigger food is crawfish (shellfish), especially in soup form. If I avoid that, I’m A0K.

Had it in knee ankle and big toe previously. Hurts like a Mgr for sure. Mine tends to come on very fast and go away very fast. Drink a lot of water to avoid a kidney stone. Those ailments are related.

I never could figure out anything to make the pain go away other than waiting it out and changing diet/exercise to try to avoid getting it in the first place. It's just a terrible time during an attack. I hope it gets better for you ASAP.

Yes and it sucks. Once had it for two weeks in one knee then immediately for two weeks in the other knee. Sugar was a big trigger, but my kidney function was also bad which was the main issue. Steroid shots were the only thing that helped.

Got it in my ankle 2 years ago- swole up like a grapefruit, they had me in the hospital for 3days until they got the swelling to go down. My GP still has me on medication, but no further issues...

Tell your Dr that you want to go on 300mg of Allopurinol daily and you'll never suffer from gout again.

Cherries are good for gout relief believe or not. Diet plays a big part in gout flair ups. As much as we love certain foods and seasonings we gotta do it in moderation. If suffered for years but since I’ve changed to a more healthy diet I haven’t had the amount of bouts with the crap. When I do I quickly adjust my diet and break out the cherries lol.
