3 boxers come to mind:
Carlos Monzon---One of the greatest Middle Weight Champions to ever step into the ring, killed his wife, went to prison, got out and died in a car accident
Edwin Valero----also killed his wife and then committed suicide. At the time of his death he was 27-0 with 27 KO's and looking unbeatable.
Tony Ayala-----Middle Weight fighter with a promising career out of Texas who had a thing for rape and young girls. Went to prison more than once for his depravity.

As noted, Joey Albert Bell. He once ripped apart a piece of the outfield fence, in either Starkville or UGA, climbed the fence & chased after a racist heckler. Jimmy Piersal had no peers for us old timers.

I ran across a short documentary of him the other day. He was an animal inside the ring even after doctors told him not to fight due to a car accident that damaged his brain. I wonder if that had anything to do with killing his wife. That was a scumbag move but he did have the decency to admit it unlike some people.

I did a quick google of "crazy athletes" to make sure someone obvious hadn't slipped out of my mind, and he kept coming up for sure.
