Remember, the super highs at LSU had some advance warning on this report. Which means they had time to think about discipline.
What they handed out (set suspension plus "continuing education") is fully showing they have no intention to fire. Now, maybe because of this blowback, they will.

I see people saying he didn’t report a rape. Have you read the report ? Cmon back off ,Verge did what he was trained to do. Maybe that training was bad but let’s not bring a Good man down

I don't care how long they have been there and what kind of job they have done in the past. Both messed up royally and should be fired.

When you are an executive level leader if you are unclear of anything you have the responsibility to seek clarity. You are held to a higher standard than the ground level secretary. You were paid to be the one that provides clarity in leadership.
Not only that but we all know Joel Alleva does not make decisions alone. Miriam and verge were in the conference room when Joe was weighing out what to do in light of the Baylor investigation. They agreed on the “Tell Miriam instead of Title IX Office” strategy despite 30 years of title IX training between them.
Huge stain on the University keeping them

He wasn’t trained to cut a student off when they’re about to tell him a story that would trigger the mandatory reporter clause. He flat out talked over a student telling them he did not want to hear it

I do completely agree with this. It’s hard for me to listen to their excuses considering their position and salary. IMO this was a chance for LSU to start fresh and they blew it.
