Yes you can do it but you need to tell the ticket counter when checking in. IT has to be in locked box. They will issue some type of receipt for it then you can put it in a checked bag. When you arrive, you present that receipt and claim it. My wife has done it recently with no problems. I might a detail or two wrong as I didn't fly with her, but she said it was really easy.

Okay cool, yeah definitely planned on making them aware. Do you happen to know what type of case she used? If I remember correctly you don't use TSA approved locks on gun cases?

I remember a few times when I was young and my dad just put my 410 in the bottom of his duffle bag and just didnt tell them
