Sell half so when it tanks I preserve my initial investment?

Or hold what I bought like I know I should?

What is your objective, time horizon, etc.?

For fun, you may want to read the Peter Thiel PayPal Roth IRA article posted this week for chits & giggles.

Sell. IPOs are already ridiculously overvalued when retail gets to buy them

If it doubles I would sell at least half. I would sell all unless it’s a high conviction stock for you. Paper gains are meaningless unless you sell. The main rule is to not lose money as you have to make double any losses to recoup an investment. A 100% gain is huge, particularly in an over priced market.

Taking profit is a feminine trait

Hold til you’re down 40% and sell like a real man

Great IPO pump and dump shite stock examples. Get out

Check pattern of recent ICO -ICP might be greatest pump and dump scam in crypto history going on. From $700+ down below $30 within 2 months.

el Gaucho gets the prize for the best answer, if not the most wise. I'll probably sell 1/2 as one person suggested.

If you like the stock but want to protect the gains buy some long range puts equal to your amount of shares at 20-30% under current price.

You can sell some OTM calls above current price as well to offset the put purchase.

Selling immediate after IPO significant gains gets taxed short term federally at approx. 40%. Try to use options to hold for at least a year to get tax burden to long term and be hedged to sleep well regardless of what market does.
