Most football players I know live in a lot of musculoskeletal pain. It’s ultimately a medical reason why they use it.

Should do only what’s required, nothing more. I guarantee that is what most SEC teams are doing. What’s wrong with LSU compliance people, this is not a case where you get get an A+ for doing more.
