We’re thinking about taking the whole rig to UK and then to Cincy. Looking for some guidance on possible tailgating locations and experiences in Lexington (and Bengals stadium for that matter).

They tailgate right outside their stadium, which isn’t on campus it’s just off so there’s a lot of open space.

Friday night downtown is fun

I enjoy the Lexington trip

It's not your typical sec tailgate but it's ok...nothing special...
There lots of other things to do besides the game...

They literally sit in the parking lot and eat buckets of chicken.

The one UK game I went to that’s literally what we did. Peep the link above. This fall in Lexington will be special.

Good experiences, but only because we brought the party to them. They are a boring fanbase (with football). Basketball they are little more fun.

Keeneland is the big draw in Lexington. Open 3 weeks in the Fall and Spring for racing. Check the schedule. If open you want to go to the races on Friday. Much nicer venue than Churchill Downs. Ky fans would rather go to Keeneland that the football game if they are at the same time

Better than cold chicken tenders under a tent with a chandelier pretending to be Harvard.

I have been to a heck of a lot of away games through the years and I have come to the conclusion that I’ll just save my tailgating for home games. Since you can seldom get passes for pay lots, you often just end up parking on the side of some street or something like that. You are almost always better off just getting set up in some place with food and drinks near the stadium and hanging out until game time.

All I know is that I have been to heck of a lot of UK-LSU games in Lexington. I use to live in West Virginia and I could drive in 2 hours. I missed the darn Blue Grass miracle cuz I was on a cruise. I enjoyed every game. Tailgating was awesome but only because of all of the LSU fans.... I think the UK folks only drank.... the cooking by LSU folks kind of surprised them I think. One year in the late 90s I think I was sitting a few seats behind Dinardos wife... She got pissed and left because Dinardo was getting booed... Another year I was sitting a few seats from Charles Alexander... Cool dude, I think he was still playing for the Bengals...

But the most interesting thing I saw one year is that at half time half the fans left. I couldn’t figure it out because Kentucky was winning....I was told that the fans left to go stand in line for the midnight practice that signaled the start of basketball season. That pretty well sums up the state of UK basketball ??
