I don’t have a CHL but carried occasionally (in my car, not on my person.). I have a disabled neighbor that has friends and family in some rougher parts of town so I would give her rides and carry in the car.

Most states (at least red ones) treat your car the same as your house. So you're allowed to open carry a long gun and conceal carry a handgun in the car. You're also allowed to carry on your person, without a license, while transporting weapons between your car and property.

The FF couldn't have been clearer about having a firearm. "Shall not be infringed" means there is no such thing as legal gun control. Gun control is clearly unConstitutional.
