It really saddens me that we are at this point. The internet really has been a blessing and a curse and I believe technology, social media and the instant exchange of information is a huge part of what has brought us to this current juncture.
This board isn't immune to it. It can quickly become an echo chamber. From the outside looking in, I can see where people can form opinions about this place. I do appreciate we have a variety of contributors on this site, but the reality is that we are all living in our own versions of our curated realities based on where we are getting our information. I cannot fault anyone who gets their information from a source I wouldn't agree with. No matter what your beliefs are - you can find someone online whose views you align with.
I wish we had an honest media. I wish censorship wasn't as rampant as it is. I wish just more people were honest about their own feelings and beliefs and found them for themselves without just feeling and believing it because someone or a news outlet told them they should. I also feel like that's a little bit of human nature and how we have been conditioned to look outside of ourselves for validation.
I was not placed on this planet to hate anyone or judge others based on their beliefs. With all the information and disinformation available at our fingertips, I can see why so many people do not know what to believe at this point. So much reality clashing going on and it's been wild watching it unfold. I am optimistic about the future, but also accept we are living in crazy times.
